It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that our beloved mother passed away, surrounded by family on Monday, July 18, 2016. Born Nov 10, 1929, she was daughter of the late George and Laura (Slauenwhite) Drew. She will be greatly missed by her sisters, Joan (my mom) and Lorna; brother, Bernard; also her daughter Pam; sons, Pat and Bob; grandchildren, Jonathan, Nicole, Jenna, Ryan and Cory & many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Valerie was predeceased by her husband, William Boyd Ward; brothers Regis, George, and sister Beatrice. There was no visitation, but there is a church service held July 29 at 10:50am at St. John the Baptist Church, 26 Purcell's Cove Rd, Halifax NS with a reception to follow. Then graveside burial. Donations can be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
